…It’s TGI Friday: Rescue: The Beagles?

Rescue: The Beagles

Rescue: The Beagles is a quirky little indie platformer game that was created for (and won) the TIGSource Procedural Generation competition.

Your goal is to hop between three randomly generated levels in order to save hurt and wandering beagles from various villains:

Rescue: The Beagles Villains

The back-story is as follows:

A cargo airplane crashed somewhere above the wast areas of the Amita range. It was carrying a large shipment of beagles headed to the CutLab, a huge animal testing facility.

The Lab is upset about losing its precious testing material and is deploying a biohazard division determined to reclaim its property. They operate under the strict orders: seize the usable specimens, kill the rest.

We’re sending three of our elite animal rights activists to rescue as many dogs as possible before the Lab’s grunts confine them back to the life of endless misery.

It’s a free game, and has already received very positive reviews, so head on over and give it a play.

…David Bergman’s Gigapan image of Obama is amazing?

Gigapan Obama Inauguration

To really give you an idea of what it was like to attend President Obama’s Inaugural Address with more than a million other people, David Bergman used the GigaPan EPIC to capture 220 images with his Canon G10, and then stitch them together into a final image that’s more than 1,474-Megapixels big!

The final size is 59,783 x 24,658 pixels, and it takes up almost two gigs of data, but if you go to the Gigapan site, you can click and zoom around within the image to view all of the amazing details that were captured by David. People have even gone through and annotated interesting things to see, so you can just click on what looks good and let the software fly and zoom you into place automatically.

…The clouds glow at night under airplanes?

Glowing Night Video

On a recent flight from Amsterdam to San Francisco, Flickr user Ettubrute noticed that the night lights from the cities were flowing beneath the clouds and making them glow in a spectacular and ethereal way: “It was really seeing the impact of urban environments from a different perspective.”

To capture and share this experience, he set up an improvised stabilizer mound out of bags, pillows and blankets for the camera to sit on, and took about three hours of photographs that he condensed into about a minute of time lapse video.

…I’m A Designer?

I'm A Designer And...

I’m A Designer And… is a neat little concept site where designers can add their ending to the sentence, and a stream of past results are shown so you can see what it’s like to live as a designer.

That’s really all there is too it, but the single sentence insight is interesting to read and you might be surprised by what goes on in the heads of these guys.

…It’s Things Thursday: SuicideGirls: Beauty Redefined?

SuicideGirls: Beauty Redefined

The SuicideGirls are a group of girls that revolt against the typical ‘adult’ star, and believe that all women are beautiful in all sorts of shapes and sizes.

SuicideGirls: Beauty Redefined

To help celebrate that belief, they have created a book called SuicideGirls: Beauty Redefined, and it’s “a 396 page hardcover tribute to the stunning SuicideGirls from around the world”.

The images are collected by region and represent the most beautiful nude images of the SuicideGirls from the past 8 years.

The discreet black cover is meant to match your decor and not look out of place on a coffee table when your parents come over, and all copies of the book purchased through the SuicideGirls website will even be hand signed by Missy Suicide and Courtney Riot themselves.

Check out the semi-NSFW video below for more info, or visit the SuicideGirls website to purchase for just $40.
