…It’s Website Wednesday: Is this your luggage?

Is This Your Luggage

Is This Your Luggage is a unique site in which the site owner goes to airport luggage auctions, buys lost luggage, photographs it, and then posts the photos online; turning them into a sort of biographical autopsy.

His hope is to find the original owners of some of the luggage and reunite the two, though for now, it just serves to satisfy the world’s weird voyeuristic passions.

So, is it yours?

…Obscura Digital augments your world?

Obscura Digital

Obscura Digital turns buildings into giant displays using synchronized HD projectors, and their latest target was the old mint building in downtown San Francisco for the YouTube Symphony.

The software that they’ve developed automatically calculates and compensates the video for distance, angle, surface, shape, brightness, picture shift, and other variables to create a seamless experience, and with some creative minds behind the end design, the result is a building that literally comes to life before your very own eyes.

See for yourself:

…Video is the new photo?

Megan Fox Esquire Cover

For the June issue of Esquire magazine, Greg Williams used a RedONE video camera to capture Megan Fox for the cover.

The shoot, which apparently involved about 10 minutes of Megan Fox ‘acting’ out various scenes, will be chopped up into an infinite number of potential cover photos, and one will make the cover thanks to the RedONE’s resolution, which is four times that of HD.

Could this be the future of photography as we know it?

…It’s Tuner Tuesday: Ferrari 599XX?

Ferrari 599XX

Ferrari’s 599 GTB Fiorano is already a potent pony, so when the Italians decided to put their stallion through the XX program (which was responsible for cars like the Enzo FXX and the FXX Evoluzione) the ears of millionaires around the world definitely perked up.

Ferrari 599XX Side Rear

The end result of Ferrari’s poking, prodding, tuning and trimming is called the 599XX, and it’s the fastest road car they’ve ever produced. (Though calling this a road car is a bit of a stretch.)

Ferrari 599XX Detail

The ‘extreme track car’ bumps power to 700 hp at 9,000 rpm, and uses carbon fiber wherever possible to bring the weight down while increasing aerodynamic downforce. Other neat goodies include F1 style ‘doughnuts’ over the brake discs that improve aerodynamics and brake cooling, carbon fiber brake pads, and a whole host of active aerodynamic components they call the ‘ActiflowT’ system.

Like previous XX cars, the 599XX will be invitation only, so if you don’t already have a few Ferraris parked outside, this won’t be the next addition, but for the select few, Ferrari has created a car that will more than likely defy belief.
