Skinny Blonde is an Australian beer that features some rather… unique packaging.
On each bottle, there is a picture of a blonde babe in a red bikini, and when the bottle heats up, the bikinis come off and you’re left holding a bottle with a topless hottie on it.
The website is also rather… unique, since you can preview each skinny blonde before buying the actual bottle. There’s also a staring competition, though I’m guessing you can figure out how that will end.

After what must have been a very long and grueling search, St. Pauli has finally found their St. Pauli Girl for 2009, and it’s a “successful print and TV model” named Katarina Van Derham.
In case you were worried that the St. Pauli Girl was going to be anything less than perfect, just be happy to know that Katarina is 5’6” tall with blonde hair and blue-green eyes, is fluent in five languages including English, Slovak, Czech, Russian and Polish, has modeled for Vogue, Marie Claire, FHM and Iron Man, has been featured in ad campaigns for AT&T, Bicycle Casino, Rockstar Energy Drink and Dodge, is trained in Krav Maga, a military self-defense technique, enjoys kick-boxing, wrestling and playing basketball, volleyball and table tennis, and when she’s not modeling, she’s developing her own make-up line and working on architectural graphic design.

PopSci staff photographer John Carnett may be the greatest inventor of all time. What he’s created, and what you see here is the world’s first All-In-One Beer Making Machine. Called simply ‘The Machine’, it features a stainless-steel two-cart brewing system that starts with wort, or pre-fermented beer, and ends with a perfect, chilled pint.

Over several weeks, beer takes the journey from wort concentrate to tasty beverage. A cooling system regulates temperature and ensures that the final product is a frosty brew.
Concentrated wort extract goes into the boil keg along with water and hops. A propane burner heats the mix for about 90 minutes.
After the boil, the wort moves through a heat exchanger, cooling it to between 53ºF and 63ºF before it reaches the fermenting tank.
An electronic controller monitors the temperature inside the fermenting keg; When it needs cooling, a pump circulates water through a nest of copper tubing sitting on a cold plate—chilled by Freon in its interior—and wrapped around the keg.
After 10 to 15 days, depending on the brew, the wort becomes beer. Carnett swaps hoses and turns a valve to move the beer to one of two settling kegs, where the CO2 tank adds carbonation and debris falls to the bottom.
Finally, the beer moves into one of two serving kegs. Pull the tap, and the beer travels through the cold plate, so it’s chilled on the way to your glass, eliminating the need for constant cooling and ensuring a frosty brew anytime.
The next step? Add a third cart to make wort from raw grain instead of extract, though he’s got a lot of ‘testing’ to do before taking on that monumental step.

For women that can’t control their consumption of alcohol, but would still like a little breast boost, there’s now a beer called Boza that will supposedly help them out.
Crafted in Bulgaria, this beer contains breast-enhancing stimulants that are “proven to increase your cup size” (and probably your gut size too). Though it’s an ‘I’ll believe it when I see it’ sort of thing, this has definitely got some potential.

Tom Seefurth had a novel idea. He liked pizza, and he liked beer, so he figured, why not combine the two?

Though it’s news to me, apparently dogs love beer. They enjoy the grain flavors, but can’t handle the alcohol, so Dog Star Brewing came up with a solution. Happy Tail Ale is a beer designed specifically for dogs. It’s non-alcoholic, non-carbonated, and features all-natural beef drippings. This isn’t just joke packaging though. Happy Tail Ale is a real beer and is brewed just like real beer in 500-gallon copper kettles, made with artesian water and choice malted barley. As beer continues its upscale climb with more and more micro-brewers entering the scene, restaurants are yielding to the growing demand by employing beer sommeliers to manage the beer selection, work with the kitchen and help diners pair the proper beer style to their chosen food style. Don Russell, writer for Joe Sixpack, disagrees with the term beer sommelier, preferring cellarman (or woman) instead. Whatever they want to call them though, I welcome any restaurant that wants to have good knowledge of good beer, and I hope it’s a growing trend.
