Blob Jumping Has A New World Record

Blob Jump

The new Guinness World Record for the highest Blob Jump has officially been set (and set with style!) at 55 feet.

If that sounds high, it’s because it is!

Check out the video to see what I mean:

If anyone wants to break the record, I’m guessing you’re going to need a parachute soon…

Jed Mildon Does A Triple Backflip On His BMX

Doing a backflip on a BMX bike? Easy. (Or so it seems, given the number of BMXers who can do one.)

Doing a double backflip on a BMX bike? Now we’re getting somewhere!

But doing a triple backflip on a BMX bike? Insanity! Impossible! Instant Death!

Or not, as Jed Mildon has become the first person to complete at triple backflip at the Unit T3 Mindtricks BMX Jam in Taupo, New Zealand.

Don’t believe me?

Here’s the proof:

Tempest Freerunning Academy Looks Like Fun

Tempest Freerunning Academy

Tempest Freerunning Academy is California’s first indoor training facility solely dedicated to the growth and spread of freerunning and parkour.

In their intro video, Tempest showcases some of the obstacles and areas found at The Academy, and what those obstacles can enable in the presence of a professional:

11 – The Beautiful Game

11 The Beautiful Game

11 – The Beautiful Game is the first in a series of ‘luxury’ football tables (foosball for those of us in the US) from GRO design.

With a design that features sweeping curves to “reflect the beauty and grandeur of today’s modern stadiums”, atmospheric lighting, and chromed metal players, it’s meant to capture the excitement and drama of a classic sporting encounter.

In addition, each table is individually numbered, and hand-finished by skilled European craftsmen.

It doesn’t get much better than that!

…Hockem is sitting with an attitude?

Hockem Trick

It’s difficult to create a new sport from scratch, but SALZIGdesign is trying to do just that with Hockem.

The sport is based around the use of a Sporthocker, which is equal parts sports equipment and furniture.

Sporthocker

Tricks involve casting, catching, balancing and (of course) sitting on the Sporthocker, with the end of a move signified by the sit. Think of it as a combination of skateboarding, parkour, hacky sack, flatland BMX, and… sitting.

Right now Hockem appears to only be popular in its birthplace of Germany, and perhaps a few other European countries that the Hockem team has traveled too, but given the relentless quest to find the next best thing and get it sponsored by RedBull and added to the X Games, I can only imagine that it’s just a matter of time before this extreme seat makes its way to the US.
