I’ve been meaning to get around to it for quite some time now, but it was just one of those things that kept getting pushed back and pushed back, and I apologize for the delay in updating the Comment Charity numbers.
March was a very successful launch, and the DYH community raised $20 for The Global Fund, matching the goal that I had set during the middle of the month.
April slowed down a bit, but we still managed to raise $7. Not amazing, but not bad considering it all goes to a good cause. Since I didn’t determine a specific charity for April, I’m going to take the $7 and donate it with May’s funds to May’s charity of choice.
That’s where I need your help. Where would you like to see the money go? I’m open to suggestions, so if you have a charity that you prefer, let me know, and I’ll see if we can make it work.
So far, May has been a slow month, and with only two new comments, our total sits at just $1. I haven’t lost faith though, and I believe that with a little effort, we can again make a sizable donation to a good cause. Look around, see what interests you, and make a comment or two, because a few minutes of your time can mean so much to someone or something with so little.
In other site’s news, Comment Charity partner Some Random Dude has been quite successful with his program (Comment Love) lately, raising $31 in March, and $43 in April, (and is already at $21.50 for May). In addition, Trying To Follow is now the newest blog to give back when the comments come in, starting a Comment Love program that is already seeing some success of its own.
The movement is growing, and it’s a great way to give back by blogging, so comment away, and let’s make a difference.
