…English should be plain?

If you scored an 800 on your SATs and still use the words you memorized in the process, The Plain English Campaign would like you to stop. Since 1979, the PEC has been “fighting for crystal-clear communication” through the elimination of excessive verbiage and complicated sentence structure. Though I’ve never considered my grandiose, ostentatious, pretentious, flamboyant, pompous, and turgid writing style to be too much, I guess some people could use a few reminders to be just plain old understandable sometimes.
