Most arcade games never quite get the realism factor nailed down. Whether it’s the plastic sword you swinging around, or the lack of a clutch pedal in a driving game, there’s always something that could be improved upon. The designers of this Initial D game, however, decided to kick it up a notch, and placed participants inside of the actual cars they’re driving on the screen.
No, these aren’t plastic bodies surrounding a fake drivers seat. These are actual cars, strapped to motion simulators and given the controls for the game. Featuring a Subaru Impreza, a Toyota GT-APEX, and a Mazda RX-7, it’s the closest you’re probably ever going to get to becoming a drift king (without loosing your license, of course).
