The RUF Auto Centre is the place to go when you want to pimp out your Porsche, and money is no option. Famous for their conversions, RUF has now set their sites on the big boys with their CTR3, an entirely new car based roughly around a 911. Their goal is to run with the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini, and they’re doing so with an aluminum and carbon fiber body that is designed entirely in-house, with only the Cayman taillights to remind you that this beast has Porsche parents.
For power, RUF has the twin-turbocharged, 3,746cc flat six pushing out 700 horsepower and 656 lb-ft of torque, which is good enough for a 0-62 time of 3.2 seconds and a max speed of 235 mph. Shifting is handled by the six-speed sequential manual gearbox, and stopping is handled by the 15” 6-piston ceramic-composite brakes that are encased in five-spoke wheels that measure 19” in the front and 20” in the back.
Inside, it’s the life of luxury, with plenty of aluminum and suede and leather and exposed stitching to go around. The seats better be comfortable though, because for more than half a million, RUF is catering to a very exclusive clientèle. I’m calling this the someday car.
