
As Nintendo evolved, so did its color palette. When the original NES launched in 1985, it drew from a palette of just 53 colors. Now, with the release of the Wii, games can choose between 16.7 million colors, and are capable of mimicking the colors found in the real world. aaaaaaaahh the good old NES.. I remember playing mario on that thing with my cousin, staying up all night trying to complete it… I sometimes think that game designers spend too much time in getting colors right instead of the actual gameplay but hey-ho.. I guess in some games there is the need to try and create an atmosphere for the player and i guess color is a huge part of that…
