TOMS Shoes might be made of canvas and certified vegan, but they’re also much more than that: They’re the driving force behind a movement to give the world a decent pair of shoes.
That’s because for every pair of TOMS Shoes that you buy, they’ll give a pair of TOMS Shoes to a child in need. So far, this One For One plan has given over 140,000+ pairs of shoes to children, and in 2009 alone, they plan on giving away more than 300,000 pairs.
Don’t take my word for it though. Check out the video, give the site a look, and see if your next pair of shoes should do more than just make your feet look good.
Hot on the heels of Marisa Miller’s appearance, Bar Refaeli has been given the honor of gracing the cover of the 2009 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.

After what must have been a very long and grueling search, St. Pauli has finally found their St. Pauli Girl for 2009, and it’s a “successful print and TV model” named Katarina Van Derham.
In case you were worried that the St. Pauli Girl was going to be anything less than perfect, just be happy to know that Katarina is 5’6” tall with blonde hair and blue-green eyes, is fluent in five languages including English, Slovak, Czech, Russian and Polish, has modeled for Vogue, Marie Claire, FHM and Iron Man, has been featured in ad campaigns for AT&T, Bicycle Casino, Rockstar Energy Drink and Dodge, is trained in Krav Maga, a military self-defense technique, enjoys kick-boxing, wrestling and playing basketball, volleyball and table tennis, and when she’s not modeling, she’s developing her own make-up line and working on architectural graphic design.
Oh, and she looks good in a Bavarian Beer Girl costume. (Holding Photoshopped beers if you look closely at the image above.)
For the 2009 Winter X Games, Superfad and The Martin Agency worked together to create this fantastic spot called The Spark.
It uses live-action, 3D, Illustration, and stop-motion together to show a trick evolving from its inception in the snow to its thrilling culmination on the course, and is definitely a unique :30 second spot:
The start of a new year is always the perfect time for planning and preparation, and if you’re the type that likes to map out your life inside of the structure that a calendar provides, then DYH is here to help you pick out a good one:
