…Chris Jordan runs numbers?

Running The Numbers

Chris Jordan’s latest work, Running The Numbers, An American Self-Portrait, “looks at contemporary American culture through the austere lens of statistics”. By visualizing the numbers that are used daily in articles and books, Chris wants to help you connect with, and make meaning of, the “vast and bizarre measures of our society”. Pieces include Plastic Bottles, a depiction of two million plastic beverage bottles (the number used in the US every five minutes), and Cell Phones, a depiction of 426,000 cell phones (the number of cell phones retired in the US every day). Powerful stuff.
