…The MC Sport Line lets you customize your Maserati?

Maserati MC Sport Line

I’m a big fan of carbon fiber, which is probably why I’m a big fan of the Maserati MC Sport Line, a program that basically allows you to add on a bunch of neat little carbon fiber bits and pieces to your already attractive Maserati GranTurismo.

According to Maserati, the MC Sport Line “is designed to enhance the sporty DNA of Maseratis for those customers who like to express their passion for racing through dynamic styling and a choice of technical solutions that increase driving fun without compromise.”

If you’re wondering about the name, MC stands for Maserati Corse, which is Maserati’s motor racing division, and the inspiration behind the MC Sport Line. Their hope is that with the MC Sport Line, Maserati can start to bring some of their on-track experience to the streets.

Initial products to get the benefit of some carbon fiber love include new front and rear spoilers, side skirts, mirror housings and door handles, door panels, dashboard, central tunnel, steering wheel rim, paddle shifts and the instrument panel.

Under all that carbon fiber, customers can also order up new rims, stiffer springs, shock absorbers and anti-roll bars, as well as a specific Maserati Stability Program that is designed to give the driver more freedom before kicking in the nanny.

If you’re in the market for a Maserati, each one of these pieces will be available individually, so it’s really a matter of taste, but if your tastes have the wallet to back it up, you can now have your GranTurismo delivered with all the carbon fiber a driver could ever need.

…People love the ampersand?

The Ampersand

The Ampersand is an entire blog dedicated to “the most attractive punctuation mark of them all”.

Apparently this scribal abbreviation is more popular than I would have thought; because people have ampersand tattoos, take photographs of ampersands, document strange ampersand uses and appearances, and more.

I guess if it exists, someone probably has a blog about it…

…Kipp Wettstein makes beautiful large format cameras?

Kipp Wettstein

Kipp Wettstein makes his own large format cameras as part of what he calls The Camera Project.

The cameras are designed to suit Kipp’s “operational tendencies for the singular application of mobility”, and make a “simple, elegant and accurate method to connect the lens and film planes”.

The beauty of the design is that it is built around the elegant form of the image cone produced by the lens. Not only does this design yield an attractive camera but it is extremely accurate. The lens and film planes have a parallel accuracy within the fractions of a millimeter. These designs have no perspective-controlling movements. They are small, lightweight and extremely precise.

His latest, called the 8×10 Carbon/Aluminum, is a beautiful “portable, wide-angle camera using a molded carbon fiber cone attached to a body plate machined from a solid block of 7075-T651 aircraft aluminum”. The lens is a Schneider 165mm Super Angulon, and “at four pounds, its weight nearly matches that of the camera body”.

Want one?

He’ll make one for you (or at least take your inquiry about one), but keep in mind that “ultimately, large-format photography is a costly process”.

…Eva Mendes doesn’t like fur?

PETA - Eva Mendes

Apparently PETA is quickly becoming the next Playboy, as Eva Mendes is the latest celebrity to bare all in the fight against fur.

Whether or not she’s following in Alicia Silverstone’s footsteps, she’s definitely making a statement, and one that I definitely would like to see more attractive celebrities making.

Go naked.

…Pies help to sell underwear?

Want to know the secret formula for selling more underwear?

Take a bunch of attractive models, put them in their undies, add pies with ‘suggestive’ white filling, and wait for the cash to roll in.

Don’t believe me?

See if you can stop yourself from buying a pair of Davenports after watching this:
