…The Thing Quarterly is a unique bit of news?

The Thing Quarterly

The Thing Quarterly is a ‘periodical’ that arrives in the form of an object. For each issue, an artist, writer, musician or filmmaker is invited by the editors (Jonn Herschend and Will Rogan) to create a useful object that somehow incorporates text. The object is then reproduced and hand wrapped at a wrapping party, and mailed to subscribers with the help of the United States Postal Service.

Previous issues include a cutting board, a deck of playing cards, and a mug, so you never know exactly what you’re going to get, though it’s pretty much guaranteed to be unique, fun and/or awesome.

…Nottage Design makes a pool table from the future?

Nottage Design G-1 Pool Table

The Nottage Design G-1 Pool Table is easily the coolest, most unique and most futuristic pool table around.

It features a transparent playing area with a glass top and a patented Vitrik resin playing surface that allows the balls to roll like a regular pool ball, just without the need for felt.

At around $25,000 it’s definitely not cheap, but if your evil villain lab’s game room is not yet complete, it’s a small price to pay for awesome.

…DYH is in Chicago?

Chicago

I’m going on a work related trip to Chicago today, so DYH is going to be light on the updates, but in place of my normal posts, I’ve added tons of cool/great/awesome/semi-lame links from my “write about this one day” pile to the DidntYouHear.com Facebook Page.

If you haven’t already, be sure to become a fan of the page, since I’m going to try to use it more often as a place to put all of the interesting links that I find that I just don’t have time to write a full post about.

See you there!

It’s not like you needed another reason to want a Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4, but if you’d like to further solidify the awesomeness of this car in your mind, check out this video of what it can do in the hands of Sam Hubinette:

…Harry Winston’s Opus 8 is amazing?

Harry Winston Opus 8

As if mechanical-digital watches weren’t already cool enough, Harry Winston has created a watch that uses mechanical pixels to display the time at the push of a button, and called it the Opus 8.

Even the back features a second time display, with a power reserve indicator to tell you when your awesome is running low.

Only 50 were made, and apparently they all sold before the watch was even unveiled, so if you want one, then get the house on the market and start checking eBay, because these aren’t exactly going to be cheap.
