…It’s Tuner Tuesday: Mansory Chopster?

Mansory Chopster

The Mansory Chopster is what happens when Mansory gets their hands on a Porsche Cayenne, and the carbon fiber factory has a sale.

Mansory Chopster Detail

Both the exterior and the interior have been thoroughly reworked to include carbon fiber on almost every surface, with the exterior getting a widebody kit and a roof chop in the process.

The engine also got reworked, and now has 710 hp and 900 Nm of torque thanks to a new engine management system, bigger turbos and reworked air intakes.

The Chopster is definitely not a car that will appeal to everybody, but if you want to stand out from the crowd, then this is definitely one way to do it.

…The Porsche Design Cayenne looks blackalicious?

Porsche Design Cayenne

The Porsche Cayman S Design Edition proved that the stunner from Stuttgart looks even better in tones of black, and apparently Porsche agreed, because they went on to create a Boxster S Design Edition, and now, a Cayenne GTS Design Edition.

The all black beauty gets special black striping on the doors and hood, along with 21-inch SportPlus wheels that are painted to match.

Inside, it’s plenty of carbon fiber and black leather to coddle and comfort the driver, and ‘Porsche Design Edition 3’ badging can be found both inside and out.

Porsche Design Accessories

The big selling point however is that in addition to the SUV, buyers get Porsche Design accessories that match, including a chronograph watch and a four piece luggage set.

Not fond of black?

That’s just too damn bad.

…It’s Tuner Tuesday: Stalin Cayenne Volga?

Stalin Cayenne Volga

Since yesterday was April Fools’ Day, I wasn’t about to try and push out any type of quality content (though it’s hard to argue with a good Rick Rolling!) so Tuner Tuesday happens to fall on a Wednesday this week.

And what a tuner it is!

Sure, on the outside it looks like a Volga with a Stalin paint job, but didn’t your mom teach you about judging a book by its cover?

It’s what’s inside that counts.

And inside this Volga are the salvaged remains of a Porsche Cayenne.

The Volga body was then grafted onto the Cayenne frame, and the details were sorted out to make this one well-done combination.

It might look like a rolling pile of gaudy, but perhaps that’s all just part of the charm.

…It’s Tuner Tuesday: Hennessey SRT600?

SRT600

This might look like an ordinary Jeep Grand Cherokee, but with a uniquely located turbo (underneath the transmission) courtesy of John Hennessey, it’s now a Super Cherokee. Though Hennessey was just featured on DYH’s Tuner Tuesday for his 1000hp Viper, it’s hard to not give him a repeat showing with vehicles like this. The $27,900 SRT600 package turns an already powerful 420hp V8 into a ridiculously powerful 620hp monster, complete with a two year warranty. Seeing as the Jeep already pulls a .9 on the skidpad, has four wheel drive, and comes with all of the luxury any SUV owner could desire, Hennessey kept things simple and focused on the engine. Upgrades include:

  • Forged Pistons (9.5:1 compression ratio)
  • Forged Steel Connecting Rods
  • Ported & Polished Cylinder Heads
  • Balanced & Blueprinted Assembly
  • Single Turbocharger
  • Stainless Steel Turbo Headers
  • Single 44 mm Wastegate
  • Stainless Steel Dual 3 in. Exhaust System with Polished 4 in. Stainless Steel Exhaust Tips
  • Front Mounted Air-to-Air Intercooler
  • 3.5 in. Polished Inlet Tube with Blow-Off Valve
  • Upgraded Fuel Pump & Fuel System

So what does all that give you? How about:

  • 0 – 60 mph: 3.5 seconds
  • 0 – 100 mph: 8.9 seconds
  • 1/4 mile: 11.9 seconds @ 116 mph

Just to put that in perspective, your Hennessey powered grocery getter will now beat a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S in the quarter by more than a second. But the Cayenne is just another SUV, what about cars? Glad you asked. The SRT600 will also win in a quarter mile drag if you go against any of the BMW M cars, all of the Mercedes AMG cars except for the SL65, the Audi S6, the Corvette, the Porsche 911 S, and even the Lamborghini Gallardo. The only cars that manage to best the beast are the 911 Turbo and the Corvette Z06, though they only manage to do it by a half of a second (and their trunks are just about big enough for a pair of swim trunks).

Fast is good.
