…It’s TGI Friday: Bounce Shot?

Bounce Shot

Bounce Shot from Nigoro is a mix of Breakout and Space Invaders, wrapped in a cute and colorful package that begs you to play.

To get started, just move your cursor around the screen with your mouse, and your ship will follow. You can shoot at the Bouncians as they move across and then slowly down the screen, and the goal is to kill them all before they either kill you, or reach the Earth.

To make things interesting, you start with just two shots (so aim carefully), but as you shoot down the bomb filled Blue Bouncians, you can gain up to six additional shots for rapid-fire kills.

The trick to the game though is that shots can bounce off of walls, and your shots are not immune, so they can also bounce back and kill you too, meaning you can’t just go in with guns a blazin’ and hope that they die before you do.

In addition, some of the Bouncians are armored, so you’ll need to utilize the bounce back feature to curve the bullets around and then into your target. Don’t worry though, if Angelina can do it, then so can you.

A boss arrives every ten levels, and the goal is to score as many points as possible, so challenge a friend and see who can bounce better, because sometimes, it’s not just about who has the bigger gun.

Are you ready?

…Folding paper can be fun?

Here’s a few projects for you paper folders:

Paper Train Whistle

The first is a working train whistle made entirely out of household materials (printer, paper, thicker paper, white glue, scissors, and a razor edge).

To make the whistle, just print the paper parts, fold, cut, glue, and after 3 hours (drying time) you’ll have your very own playable paper train whistle.

NetFlix Origami

The second is an entire site dedicated to origami that you can make from the tear-off flaps that come on NetFlix wrappers.

Though traditional origami usually requires squares of paper, each of these designs has been adapted so that you can use the rectangular NetFlix flap without alteration.

Using the sturdy and colorful flaps, you can make your very own swan, frog, box, shirt, heart, tray, crab, sack, cube, envelope, bullet plane, glider, and dive-bomber.

Just watch out for the paper cuts.

…The Marble of Doom is deadly?

Marble Of DoomMac users are very familiar with the Marble of Doom.

Also called The Spinning Beach Ball Of Death, it’s the colorful cursor that Apple gives you when your computer needs a little time to think things through, and it’s usually a good sign of slow times to come.

The Marble of Doom site wants to know exactly how much time is spent staring at that spinning ball, so the next time you’re taking an unplanned trip to the beach, stop by and add your time to the tally.

What are you *@#% waiting for?

…Zippers can hurt?

Things That Hurt

Kidrobot and Shane Jessup teamed up for these “Things That Hurt” zipper pulls, and I wish it was colder here so that I could adorn my jackets, hoodies and bags with these very painful accessories.

Each limited edition piece is made of vinyl, and easily clasps on to your zipper for colorful pulling power.
