…It’s Website Wednesday: Obamicon.me?

ObamiconMe

Since outbreaks of Obamania are sure to continue through the week and into the weekend, I though I’d point out a great way to vent some of that excess Obama energy: The Obamicon Generator.

An Obamicon is an image inspired by Shepard Fairey’s iconic Obama poster, and features red, white and blue cell shading with a simple message underneath.

To make your own Obamicon, just take a picture with your webcam or upload a photo, choose your message, and let the Obamicon generator go to work. Then, you can submit your newly minted Obamicon to the gallery, and vote on others that have been submitted as well. Finally, take your Obamicon and run it through Obamicon.me’s Zazzle store, and you’ll soon have more Obamicon mugs, hats and t-shirts than you’ll know what to do with.

…Gizmodo will let you virtually tour their Gallery?

Gizmodo Gallery

From December 4 through December 7, Gizmodo took over a small space in NYC and created the Gizmodo Gallery to showcase “the best of Gizmodo come to life”.

If you missed out on attending in person, but still want to see what the Gallery was all about, then be sure to check out the fantastic “ultra-high definition virtual reality panorama” that German photographer Joergen Geerds created for them. You can zoom in and out using only the mouse, and the level of detail is staggering. We’re talking the ability to zoom in and read the titles of DVD type quality here. (For the best experience, make sure to right-click and view in Fullscreen mode too.)

…It’s Website Wednesday: StreetArtLocator?

StreetArtLocator

The StreetArtLocator (v2) helps you locate street art near you. (Considering the name, the obviousness of that statement is not lost on me…)

With specific tags for graffiti, galleries, paintings, stickers, stencils, sculptures, and installations, it’s a Google Map powered guide to the beautiful art that’s all around you for controversially public consumption.

Just click on your area to see both a location and a picture of the street art that has been spotted and documented. Then, if you’re out and about and come across something that you’d like to share, just snap a pic and add it to the database to help those around you enjoy your find as well.

…Our desires form paths?

Desire Path

A desire path is the improvised path that forms when people walk across a certain area of grass over and over again because it makes their path shorter. Eventually, the grass wears away and dies, and a path is formed.

Check out Flickr for a full gallery of what happens when man can no longer control his desires.

…Fetishes have funny behind the scenes?

Behind The Fetish

Keith Allen Phillips likes to be called Lucky. Lucky Bastard to be exact.

For the past six years, Lucky has been working for a company that makes custom fetish videos. Since fetishes are often the sillier side of sexuality, it’s no surprise that Lucky’s collection of behind the scenes photos are often a little weird.

Bloody Barbies?

Check.

Toes crushing Hot Wheels?

Check.

Playing with a Venus Flytrap?

Sure, why not?

Basically, if you can think of it, someone else can get off on it, and Lucky and shoot it.
