…It’s Tuner Tuesday: Jackass?

The 638-horsepower LS9 from Chevrolet’s new Corvette ZR1 is the most powerful engine GM has ever made. The 1969 Camaro is (arguably) the most beautiful car GM has ever made. Combine the two, and you have a match made in heaven known (lovingly) as Jackass.

Made by Mark Stielow, the Jackass Camaro not only features the engine from the ZR1, but the GIGANTIC carbon-ceramic brakes as well.

Rounding out the package is a Tremec T56 six-speed out of a Viper, and an Art Morrison subframe to hold it all together.

In all, Mark says that it would have been “cheaper to just buy a ZR1”, but then you wouldn’t have the baddest car on the block.

Spada Vetture Sport’s TS Codatronca looks like the car Batman would dive if the Batmobile got a bit boring one day.

The front looks like a cross between a Ferrari, a Lamborghini, and a Corvette, and the rear looks like…like…well, it doesn’t really look like anything else on the market right now, since a giant Tetris tail and stealth bomber lines aren’t exactly in vogue over at GM’s design shop.

The interior however is both beautiful and functional, with plenty of suede and carbon fiber to remind you that you aren’t in a car that will serve fleet time as part of a rental program.

The engine also reminds you that you’re in a race-bred car, with 600 horses on tap, and a short ratio gearbox to compile with FIA GT1 regulations.

For the green lovers, there’s an ad-hoc “converter kit” that allows you to fuel the car with E85 ethanol and also gives you a slight increase in torque and power.

It’s definitely not your daddy’s supercar, but then, who wants that anyways?

…Hummer’s HX looks like a winner?

The Hummer HX concept is one truck that I would love to see make it to the showroom floor without getting smoothed over by the penny pinchers at GM.

Designed to be a Jeep Wrangler competitor, the HX features a 3.6-liter SIDI E85 FlexFuel engine, four wheel drive, a six-speed automatic transmission, and a modular roof that can be opened convertible style.

Considering the fact that the styling isn’t too far off when compared to the current H2 and H3, I can only hope that this is a nearly-there preview of the H4 to come.

With a name like the Top Tuner Solstice, how can this not be featured on Tuner Tuesday?

Answer: It can’t.

This Top Tuner Solstice is the end result of five of the best tuners in the industry, a blank canvas, and a blank check.

With an estimated street value of $500,000, you know that no expense was spared on this green and red goblin.

Desired Customs’ Keith Losier handled the entertainment system, decking it out in Pioneer goodness, Seam Line’s Vito Lanniciello handled the suede red interior, Rowetech Automotive’s Simon Rowe installed the 500 hp, 2.0L, twin charged (it has both a turbocharger and a supercharger installed) crate engine, Phat Custom Rides’ Chris Nankoo created a one-of-a-kind custom body kit, and Henry’s Auto Body’s Serge Leger applied the Vivacious Candy Green paint that sets this Solstice apart.

Though it’s mostly for show and probably won’t go, it’s good to see what a half mil. will buy you if you’re stuck with a Solstice.
