…It’s Tuner Tuesday: World’s Fastest Street Legal Car?

World's Fastest Street Legal Car

There are plenty of ridiculous looking drag cars out there stalking the strip, but most aren’t Tuner Tuesday worthy because they’re just built to go fast ¼ mile at a time.

What you see here however is the World’s Fastest Street Legal Car, a ’63 Corvette that will do the quarter in 6.95 seconds at 210.54 mph, then cruise down the street with working headlights, taillights, turn signals, wipers, and more on 93 octane.

Despite its street-ability, don’t pull up to it at a stop light and expect to win though, because with 2,400 horsepower on tap thanks to a twin-turbo’ed, 400 cubic-inch small block, it’ll be gone and to 60 mph in just one second. Flat. (Though if you can chase it down, it only gets 10 MPG, so you might have a chance after a mile or two!)

…Audi is putting LED bulbs in their R8 headlights?

Audi R8 Headlight

When the V10 equipped Audi R8 hits the streets, it will be the first car in the world to have both high and low beam LED headlights as standard equipment. (The 2009 Cadillac Escalade Platinum will be the first vehicle in the world to offer the all-LED technology.)

You’ve probably already seen Audis driving around with LED driving lights in the grill, and LED taillights are nothing new, but this will be the first time an all-LED system is used for the headlights, and it’s supposed to use a quarter the energy of a typical halogen bulb, while providing a brighter, whiter light.

Sure, you need to put down six figures for the privilege, but at least automakers are taking steps in the right direction to utilize new technologies that are better for the environment, while being better for us in the process.

…The SureFire Titan light is bright?

SureFire Titan

With the release of SureFire’s limited edition Titan, a titanium LED flashlight that is the world’s first continuous variable-output LED flashlight, they needed to find a way to market this mini sun beam. What better way, it seems, than to show it off between a set of headlights?

Promotion methods aside, this $500 beauty is quite the light, with military grade build quality, the ability to select from over 1,000 possible light settings from zero to 30 lumens, and a titanium finish that makes this both strong and light. Need I say more?
