Josh Vietti Plays Hip Hop Violin

Josh Vietti plays a mean Hip Hop Violin. Yup; you read that right. Hip Hop. Violin.

…D2 Man knows his Top-Flite balls?

D2 Man

Golf and hip-hop/rap are not two things that typically go together, so when Top-Flite released a video from “D2 Man” called “Never Lay Up”, you know it’s either going to be fantastic, or it’s going to fall flat on its face.

Surprisingly, it does the former, and if you appreciate a spandex rapper rhyming about golf balls with school girl backup dancers and a healthy dose of satire, then you’ll get a kick out of this commercial:

…Hip-Hop chains are huge?

Busta RhymesHip-Hop artists have an unnatural obsession with unnecessarily large chains, which is why it takes a special someone to make it into a list of Hip-Hop’s Most Ridiculous Chains. To make it onto the list, you have to be willing to take a few risks, and wearing enough cash to buy a house around your neck is just the beginning.

Platinum, gold and diamonds are all part of the chain arsenal, and the bigger the better, so click the link to see if your favorite lyricist has what it takes.

…iMix 04.07 is out?

iMix 04.07

The DYH iMix 04.07 is the first in a monthly series of iMixes that will feature unique music for you to download and enjoy. Each iMix will contain 10 songs, and is going to be a compilation of genres, ages, and popularity levels. The goal is to highlight new music that you haven’t heard of, and to provide you with a source of songs to add to your music collection. For the first month, the tracks are as follows:

  1. Cat Stevens – Where Do The Children Play? – A classic from the man now known as Yusef Islam.
  2. José González – Heartbeats – The song made famous by the Sony Bravia ad.
  3. Michael Andrews & Gary Jules – Mad World – The song made famous by the Gears Of War ad.
  4. Carrie Underwood – Before He Cheats – Hell hath no furry like a woman scorned.
  5. Britney Spears – (You Drive Me) Crazy – Considering the recent Britney news, the irony of this song continues to grow on a daily basis.
  6. MIMS – This Is Why I’m Hot – Takes every currently popular hip-hop niche and mixes them all into one catchy track.
  7. John Mayer – Waiting On The World To Change – Feel good music with a message.
  8. The Pack – Vans – A group of high school students from Berkeley California rapping about their shoes.
  9. O.A.R. – The Was A Crazy Game Of Poker – A story song that makes you want to jump out of your chair and dance.
  10. Brad Paisley – She’s Everything – A love song about the subtle things that make someone special.

Sounds good, right? I thought so too. Though I’m trying to do the work for you, I’m also open to suggestions, so if you think that you’ve found something iMix worthy, let me know. Rock out.
