…Ken Block is a mad man?

First he jumped his car more than 171 feet. Then, he jumped his car off of a ski slope next to a group of snowboarders. Now, Ken Block is showing off his skills in a demonstration of a sport called Gymkhana, and it’s one of the most beautiful pieces of automotive cinema ever created.

For those (like myself) that have never heard of Gymkhana (pronounced jim-kah-nuh), it’s “an automotive sport taking place on an open field or a parking lot requiring drivers to skillfully maneuver their cars around a series of cones, slaloms, 180 degree turns, 360 degree turns, figure eight turns or other obstacles using extreme acceleration, braking and drifting”.

…Ken Block and Travis Pastrana can fly?

Racer X Magazine

Ken Block and Travis Pastrana look like they’re trying out for the next superman movie on this cover shoot for Racer X magazine.

The stunt involved Travis backflipping his MotoX bike over Block’s Subaru, and then fire was added in just for fun (and to keep things interesting).

When asked about the stunt, Block replied “Glad Travis didn’t hit his head on the top of my car, and at least I didn’t break my back this time.”

…It’s Movie Monday: Snow Park Rally?

…Ken Block can fly?

I am now officially jealous of Ken Block.

After getting to jump his rally prepped Subaru WRX 171 feet for a new world record, he got to jump it over 70 feet in the snow for the cover of Snowboarder magazine.

The stunt was performed at New Zealand’s Snow Park Record, and used a specially prepared 55-foot ramp to put him alongside some very brave snowboarders during the jump.

I just hope Space Jam’s “I Believe I can Fly” played over his stereo the entire time.

…Ken Block can fly?

Back in December, I covered a story about Ken Block’s record setting 171-foot jump for Discovery Channel’s Stunt Junkies in his Subaru WRX (that’s 51 feet farther than the Wright Brothers flew).

Well now, thanks to YouTubeology, we’ve got a video.

Though the motorcycle guys make a jump like this look easy, I can only imagine what it must feel like in a car (meaning it’s time to build a ramp, call the chiropractor, and give this a shot).
