If you’d like to give your Apple laptop a little something special, then check out the instructions for adding a custom LCD screen into the Apple logo area.
The mod involves replacing the standard logo light with a tiny LCD screen, and actually seems pretty straight forward as long as you’re comfortable with a little warranty voiding, so crack open your case and get hackin!

Aaron Rose and DC Shoes have teamed up to create the Rose Mid as part of DC’s Artist Projects.
The shoe, which is available in either a black or wheat colorway, features an interior lined with plaid fabric and custom designed gum soles, with a repeating teardrop pattern that has a single clear teardrop to expose the cork interior.
The shoes come in a custom designed shoe bag, along with a mini ‘zine of Rose’s work, and a Rose designed box.
It’s all designed to pay tribute to the mod, punk and Goth styles that inspired Aaron as a kid, and made him what he is today.
It’s a testament to all the collaborations I’ve had throughout the years that have brought me to this position where someone like DC would come and ask me to make a shoe.”

If you’re willing to put your electrical skills to the test, then you can create your own Electric Mountain Board with a scooter motor and the batteries needed to power it.
The design allows for minimum damage to the board, and the ability to remove it if you want to do some standard riding.

Though it’s still in private beta mode, Mod My Life has some definite possibility.
Described as “a unique way to view and interact with the world. It’s kind of like ‘Second Life’ mapped back onto the real world.”
Basically, mods are suggestions for future actions. (Example: Bargain for a half-price Big Mac.) Users submit mods, and they’re added to the mod pool, where users can vote for mods that they like, and flag mods that they don’t. The more votes that a mod receives, the more likely it is that it will be promoted to the mod finals.
Modstars are the ones who perform the mods. The users determine their actions via the mod voting system, and the Modstar must do what the users say. Once he has finished one mod, the users can choose the next from among the finals, and it starts all over again.
To keep things really interesting, all of the mods are performed live (give or take the few seconds used to keep the video smooth).Video is streamed straight to the users, allowing you watch in real time as the Modstar performs each mod.
