…It’s Tuner Tuesday: V12 Mazda Miata?

V12 Miata

The Mazda Miata was designed to be a grown-up’s go-kart that could out handle just about anything else on the road, and it did a pretty good job at that task. However, some people are just not satisfied with enough, and are always looking for more.

In this case, more came in the form of a V12 engine out of a Jaguar that one enterprising Miata owner decided to shove between the front wheels of his Miata to see what would happen.

Sure, it’s not pretty, and twelve carb intakes poking up through the hood are sort of a dead giveaway for the fact that this is no ordinary Miata, but isn’t that the point when you’re building a project like this?

Check out the vid for a walkthrough of the build, as well as the sound of the monster as the owner fires it up for the first time:

…Peugeot can quickly turn a 307 into a monster?

307 WRC

You’ve seen the Subaru Team assemble a WRX STI into a rally-ready machine in just a few minutes, but for some reason, these time-lapse rally racer assembly videos never get old.

Here, we see the Peugeot team take their 307 from zero to hero in a little under four minutes as they get it ready for Marcus Gronholm and Timo Rautiainen to abuse it to victory during the 2004 WRC race in Finland:

…The Hamann Stallion is mean?

Hamann Stallion Exterior

Hamann’s Stallion is a Porsche 911 Turbo based monster.

With 630 horses coming from the twin turbocharged, 3.6 liter engine, the car gets to 60 in just 3.3 seconds (a full six tenths of a second off of the regular turbo), and has a new maximum speed of 359km/h (223 mph).

As if a monster engine wasn’t enough, Hamann also lowered the roofline by up to 8cm for extra aerodynamics, and mounted a huge wing to the back in case you decide to fly. (Because at the speeds you’d be going in one of these, that’s a definitely possibility.)

Now if they just offered it in a color besides gold…

…It’s Tuner Tuesday: Nelson Racing F-Bomb?

Nelson Racing F-Bomb

When you’re the Chief Editor of Hotrod Magazine, it’s not like you can just drive around in a Dodge Stratus.

However, the Nelson Racing “F-Bomb” 1973 Chevy Camaro that David Freiburger drives around might just take the opposite to the extreme.

Featuring a twin turbo, 406 cubic inch V8, it’s got 1540 HP and 1527 lb.ft. of torque on tap so that any time speed is an option, the go pedal is sure to provide plenty of it.

Besides the monster engine though, the car has also been caged and minitubbed for safety, and was stripped down to the bare metal before being powder coated with a fighter plane motif that I can’t get enough of.

F-Bomb indeed.
