…The Pagani Zonda R is real?

Pagani Zonda R

Pictures of the mythical Pagani Zonda R have been floating around for some time now, but I was hesitant to post them because they seemed to be just that: mythical, made up of mostly renderings and drawings.

Well thankfully, the Pagani Zonda R is very real and very worthy of its mythical status, and is set to tear up a track near you in the very near future.

Pagani Zonda R Details

Based on the already potent Pagani Zonda F, but with only about 10% carried over from the street going version, the Zonda R manages to improve on every area of the car. With 6.0 liters of Mercedes-Benz V12 on tap producing 750hp and 710Nm of torque, the 2,359 lb race car gets to 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds, and tops out at a mind numbingly fast 233 mph.

Pagani Zonda R Interior

If you can see it, it’s either been stripped down, made of carbon fiber, or eliminated, and everything is designed for one goal: Going fast enough to outrun death itself.

Speed and exclusivity definitely don’t come cheap however, as buyers of this ultra-rare uber-car will need to shell out nearly $2 million for the privilege, but if you’ve got the cash, I can’t think of a better way to spend it.

…Paganis sound good?

Pagani Stereo

Apparently, automakers that dabble in carbon fiber also have a penchant for high-end stereo equipment, because they seem to enjoy lending their name to pieces of audio art.

This Pagani system features an aluminum and carbon fiber turntables, CD player, and speaker pair that’s designed to mimic the Zonda’s sound system controls with additional details like the Zonda exhaust themed ports tying the two together.

I guess if you an afford a Zonda, then they assume you can afford something like this; because I don’t imagine shock absorbing carbon fiber turntables are a cheap addition to any home.

…The Pagani Zonda F is Fast?

Pagani Zonda F

The Pagani Zonda F is a special kind of sexy; with miles of carbon fiber covering the outside in a way that just screams speed.

The Nurburgring is an often public racetrack that is tucked away in the heart of Germany, and is used as a test track for some of the automotive elite.

Combine the two, and add in an HD camera co-pilot, and you have one of the best in car videos of all time. (Way better than the usual in car video, which looks like it was filmed with a cell phone.)

For reference, the Zonda recently set the record for the fastest lap of the ring, with a time of just 7:27.82 through the 12.9 mile loop, easily toping Porsche’s Carrera GT (the previous record holder) by almost 4 seconds.

Click through to live vicariously.

…Pagani is building a super super car?

Pagani Zonda R

Italian Supercar maker Pagani is waging war on the Ferrari FXX with a track tuned version of their Zonda model, called simply the Zonda R. Designed to give “the ultimate performance at the racetrack without any implications of rules, except for safety”, it only carries over 10 percent of the parts from their previous model, the Zonda F, with the rest being designed from scratch. Features include a 750 horsepower V12 motor borrowed from the CLK GTR racecar that Mercedes’ AMG division puts together, modified bodywork and aerodynamics, and a general increase in amazing. It’s like a rocket, only faster.
