…It’s Movie Monday: Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog?

Dr. Horrible\'s Sing-Along Blog

Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog is “the (true) story of Dr. Horrible (wow, really?), a low-rent super-villain trying to get into the Evil League of Evil, defeat his boorish nemesis, Captain Hammer, and win the girl of his dreams, Penny (or at least talk to her)”.

Joss Whedon directed the film, Neil Patrick Harris trained his acting talents to the main character, and the goal is to test out a new type of video format that is professionally produced and designed to spread virally.

It’s only available for a few more days though before going iTunes exclusive, so make sure you watch it now and see what all the fuss is about.

…It’s TGI Friday: Moola?

Moola Logo

What if you could make real money from your online gaming addiction?

What if you could make that money without ever risking any of your own?

Moola, a “massively multiplayer rewards game”, wants to do just that, and will be opening its site (currently in beta) to the masses by the end of today.

(If you’d like to get in, and the site is still not live, click HERE for an invite.)

So how does it work?

Moola WinningsWhen you first join the site, Moola gives you a penny. You then play a game against another player, and you both wager that penny. Before the game starts, you have to watch an ad, and then the winner of the game receives both player’s pennies. Betting continues at higher and higher dollar amounts until you decide to either cash out, or you go broke and have to start all over again. Any time you loose all of your money, Moola gives you another penny and you start all over again.

Since you double up each time you play, if you can win 30 times in a row, you’d walk away with $10.7 million, but considering the fact that both players would be risking $5.35 million (you can cash out at any time), the chances of that ever happening are slim to none.

Regardless, the highest cash out so far has been in the $5,500 range, so there is some serious cash to be made if you play the games right. Plus, when the site goes live, there will be a steam of new players, meaning the pace of play is going to pick up dramatically.

Sound like a deal?

Then head on over and try it out, because other player’s Moola isn’t going to wait around forever.

…Mike and Annie love pennies?

Penny Man

Mike and Annie Moore really took the saying “a penny saved is a penny earned” to heart, and saved and earned an estimated million of them to cover their McKittrick, California bar with. What started as a hobby turned into a passion, and the couple collected (or was given) over $10,000 worth of pennies, including an 1883 Indian head penny, their prized possession. The collection has tired them out though, and they’ve put the place up for sale with an $899,999.98 as is price tag. Given the rising cost of copper though, it could be an investment worth making.
