…It’s Movie Monday: Trouble in Boro Olympus?

Trouble in Boro Olympus is a short form TV pilot for The Triboro, an episodic one hour dramatic series about a group of youth in The Triboro (Olympus, Black Mountain & White Valley) that join forces and stand up to the ring of corruption that has taken control of their towns. It’s a suspenseful, noir, epic, and doesn’t neglect all the teenage stuff that keeps things honest:

Are online pilots set to become the future of television?

With quality like this, I sure don’t see why not.

…Pilots don’t like delays either?

Given the chance, what would a pilot say about our current airline/airport ‘situation’?

Probably something like:

It’s rarely acknowledged that despite recurrent fiscal crises, major staffing and technology problems, and constant criticism from the public, our carriers have managed to maintain a mostly reliable, affordable, and safe transportation system.

Pilot Patrick Smith dropped that and other bits of knowledge upon Reader’s Digest readers, and it’s actually an interesting read for anyone that wonders what’s going on in the heads of the guys on the other side of the locked cockpit door.

(My other favorite gem: “Before we take off, I would like to apologize on behalf of this and every airline for the hassle you just endured at the security checkpoint. As is patently obvious to any reasonable person, the humiliating shoe removals, liquids ban, and pointy-object confiscations do little to make us safer.”)

…The second series of Star Wars Mimobots are here?

Mimobots Star Wars Series 2

Mimoco just announced the preorder for the second series of their Star Wars set, including the lovely Princess Leia, the roguish Han “Nerfherder” Solo, the prodigal son of a Sith Luke Skywalker, and the mysterious bounty hunter Boba Fett.

These new Mimobots feature Helmet Caps, which means you can remove Luke’s X-Wing pilot helmet and Boba Fett’s Mandalorian battle helmet to reveal their faces beneath.

If that’s not enough, they’ve also got Mop Top and Headphones caps so that Hans and Leia can rock their hairstyles with ease.

As of now, they’re scheduled for a January/February ’08 release date, so order now so that you don’t miss out.
