…Reeboks smell like Kool-Aid?

Reebok Kool-Aid

Reebok/Kool-Aid kicks aren’t exactly groundbreaking, since the shoe game is known to bring some unique partnerships together, but what is interesting is that not only do these shoes look like their respective Kool-Aid flavors, they smell like them too thanks to scented sock liners.

Run one includes cherry, strawberry and grape, and more are planned (orange, lemon and lime) if the scented shoe takes off like Reebok surely hopes it will.

What’s your flavor?

…Math can make shoes?

Reebok Maeda

You don’t often see professors designing shoes, but John Maeda, a professor at the MIT Media Lab, is showing the world that smart people can have style too.

The shoe that he created, called the Reebok Timetanim, is based on the Reebok Ventilator, and features graphics that were created using an original mathematic algorithm and computer code. Even the interior lining is mathed out, with a reprint of the original, hand-written calculations that Maeda used to create the design.

It’s a limited edition of 100, so if you want a pair, make sure you head on over to Reebok Custom on November 13th and reserve one, because math is beautiful.

…Reebok is still using the pump?

Reebok Premier Pump Paris Trainer

The pump is back with the new Reebok Premier Pump Paris Trainer, a shoe that gives you “customized fit, support and comfort”. Plus, did I mention they’ve got the pump? Retrotastic.

…Tennis shoes are cool?

Tennis Shoes

Here’s a great pair of “tennis shoes” for the courts. The Ball Out, a collaboration between Reebok and Alife, is made with tennis ball felt, and features a tennis ball shaped pump. Sadly, they’re hand-made and probably a very limited edition, so don’t expect them to be at your local Payless anytime soon.
