…It’s Tuner Tuesday: Spada Vetture Sport TS Codatronca?

Spada Vetture Sport TS Codatronca

Spada Vetture Sport’s TS Codatronca looks like the car Batman would dive if the Batmobile got a bit boring one day.

The front looks like a cross between a Ferrari, a Lamborghini, and a Corvette, and the rear looks like…like…well, it doesn’t really look like anything else on the market right now, since a giant Tetris tail and stealth bomber lines aren’t exactly in vogue over at GM’s design shop.

The interior however is both beautiful and functional, with plenty of suede and carbon fiber to remind you that you aren’t in a car that will serve fleet time as part of a rental program.

The engine also reminds you that you’re in a race-bred car, with 600 horses on tap, and a short ratio gearbox to compile with FIA GT1 regulations.

For the green lovers, there’s an ad-hoc “converter kit” that allows you to fuel the car with E85 ethanol and also gives you a slight increase in torque and power.

It’s definitely not your daddy’s supercar, but then, who wants that anyways?

…It’s Tuner Tuesday: Formula Drift?

On Saturday, I had the chance to go and see Formula D’s “The Finals” at Irwindale Speedway (yes, I did get stuck on Interstate 5 on the way down from San Francisco due to that massive accident), and I must say, if you’re at all a fan of the four wheeled machine, make sure you check out one of Formula Drift’s events at a track near you.

Pontiac Solstice

If you’re not familiar with the sport, think of drifting as two automotive ballerinas battling it out in a boxing match. It’s gracefully controlled mayhem, and in my opinion, it’s easily the best form of four-wheeled entertainment on the planet.

…Soap box racing is back?

S.F.V.I.S.B.F.

The San Fernando Valley Illegal Soap Box Federation (S.F.V.I.S.B.F.) is a group of people that get together on the weekends and bomb hills in their homemade soap box racers.

Surprisingly, despite the illegal nature of their sport, there are rules and regulations in place to prevent injuries, and everything appears to be rather organized.

Check out the video for some speedy action; and I must say, it actually looks like a blast.

Now where did I put that nailgun…
