Most people will recognize the board above as belonging to a game of Scrabble, but what most people won’t recognize is that the board above is the end result of a triple record breaking game, including the most points in a game by one player (830), the most total points in a game (1,320), and the most points on a single turn (365 for QUIXOTRY). The story behind the game, played out in the basement of a Massachusetts church, is actually pretty interesting, and the record-breaking play was most likely (and surprisingly) due to the players’ less than stellar skill levels. Professionalism and perfectionism be damned though, these guys can play some Scrabble.
