…Folding paper can be fun?

Here’s a few projects for you paper folders:

Paper Train Whistle

The first is a working train whistle made entirely out of household materials (printer, paper, thicker paper, white glue, scissors, and a razor edge).

To make the whistle, just print the paper parts, fold, cut, glue, and after 3 hours (drying time) you’ll have your very own playable paper train whistle.

NetFlix Origami

The second is an entire site dedicated to origami that you can make from the tear-off flaps that come on NetFlix wrappers.

Though traditional origami usually requires squares of paper, each of these designs has been adapted so that you can use the rectangular NetFlix flap without alteration.

Using the sturdy and colorful flaps, you can make your very own swan, frog, box, shirt, heart, tray, crab, sack, cube, envelope, bullet plane, glider, and dive-bomber.

Just watch out for the paper cuts.

…There are 50 ways to help the planet?

50 Ways To Save The Planet

As Earth Day winds to a close, it’s time to start thinking about what you can actually do to save the planet.

To help you out, Wire & Twine put together a list of 50 Ways to Help the Planet, and in case you’re the forgetful type, they also created a shirt with an icon for each of the 50 ways to help you remember.

Suggestions include not pre-heating the oven, hang drying your clothes, showering with a partner, and going to the car wash, so it’s a list of things that you can actually do without drastically changing your lifestyle, which means you’re more likely to follow through with them.

…EGPApparel is a new way to play?

EGPApparelIf you happen to be shopping for shirts inside of a Target, then be sure to stop by the EGPApparel section, because they’re selling shirts that not only feature artwork from Experimental Gameplay Project games, they actually feature the games themselves on a CD that comes with each one.

Supporting indie game developers and getting a unique looking shirt out of the deal; all at the same time?

I’ll take two.

…It’s Website Wednesday: Threadcakes?

Threadcakes

Threadcakes is a site filled with the results of the Loves Threadless Cake Contest.

The premise of the concept was pretty simple: Bake a cake and decorate it to match your favorite Threadless shirt design.

With over 900 cake pics received, the results speak for themselves, and dough masters showed what was possible with a little bit of patience and a lot of inspiration.
