…The Zenvo ST1 is a serious supercar?

The Zenvo ST1 is a supercar. From Denmark. Seriously.

Despite coming from a country that’s not known for its supercars, the ST1 certainly looks the part and has specs to match, with the 7-litre V8 using both a supercharger and a turbocharger to make more than 1,100 horsepower and 1,430 NM of torque.

Specs on paper are one thing, but actual real-world performance is often another, so Zenvo gave one of their prototypes to Bil Magasinet TV for a test drive, and judging by their reaction, it’s going to be a hit:

The 2008 MacMod Mod of the Year has been announced, and a Pre-AGP Mac running Leopard has been declared the winner.

While not quite as visually impressive as the other entries, which included a TiN’ed iPhone, a Cube with liquid cooling, a Mac made of Legos, and even a Mac shoved inside of an Xbox 360, the judges felt that James Little’s (aka jimjamyahauk’s) milestone of being the first person to get Leopard to run (or even boot!) on any pre-AGP Mac was definitely worthy of the prize.

…The Stirling Moss McLaren SLR from Mercedes-Benz is better than a plane?

Besides ‘Wow’, I’m having trouble finding words to describe the new McLaren SLR Stirling Moss car that was just announced by Mercedes-Benz.

The car takes the standard SRL chassis, wraps it in a full carbon fiber bodywork, and then transplants in the 650 hp supercharged 5.5-liger V8 and five-speed transmission from the SLR 722.

There’s no roof or windscreen, but throw a pair of driving goggles on and you can pretend like you’re driving in the early 1900s. Until of course you test out the specs and find yourself getting to 62 mph in just 3.5 seconds on your way to a top speed of 217 mph of course!

Other features include the drop-dead sexy side exhaust, “Swing-Wing” doors, a retractable air brake that can be manually operated, and a two-piece tonneau cover that covers the whole cockpit, or just the passenger seat if you’re flying solo.

With just 75 of the Stirling Moss being produced, and with a price tag of over a million dollars, it’s definitely sending the SLR out with a bang, and I doubt they’ll have any trouble selling the cars despite an economy that’s dropping faster than the SLR’s laptimes. (Plus, it’s designed to be “a very special thank you to the most loyal of SLR customers, for they are the only ones able to acquire a Stirling Moss”, so you’ve already got to have a $400,000 car in your garage to begin with before even being considered!)

Featuring stainless panels from old appliances, black body panels from an ancient kayak and an old doghouse, a throttle pedal from salvaged parts that were the result of a dumpster dive at a local engineering firm, and the k20a3 engine out of a wrecked RSX, it’s also an eco-friendly car that shows that recycling can be quick too.

Specs come in at 4.5 seconds to 60, and 35+ MPG, so it’s not bad in the performance department either.

A home-built dream car pieced together from scraps lying around the house?

It doesn’t get much more tuner than that.
