…It’s TGI Friday: Upgrade Complete?

Upgrade Complete

In video games, upgrades usually mean your character gets better or your plot of land gets a few more decorations, but what if the upgrades made the game itself better?

In Upgrade Complete!, the goal is to upgrade both your ship, and the game itself. Want sound? You’ll need to upgrade. Want to mute that sound? Need to upgrade? Want to congratulate yourself when you beat the game? You guessed it; you’ll need an upgrade.

The game itself isn’t very hard, and you can probably play it from beginning to end in about 30-minutes, but the meta-gaming jokes are pretty funny, and it’s an interesting concept that’s worth a look.

…Whiteboard Tower Defense is fun?

Whiteboard Tower Defense

You’ve defended your desktop, but now it’s time to wage whiteboard warfare with Whiteboard Tower Defense.

Like other tower defense games, you build and upgrade towers to kill critters. It seems simple, but there’s a definite strategy involved with where you put your towers, when and where you upgrade, and how you spend your money.

Can you keep the whiteboard safe?

…MEET IN is short and sweet?

MEET IN ver.0 is a short and ‘cute’ game that puts you in charge of four separate people on four separate parts of the screen.

The goal is for them to all meet in one area, but you’ll need to solve a few puzzles first to get them there.

It’s an interesting idea that definitely has some possibility for the future, when the creator “may upgrade it with more gimmicks”.

…WordPress has been upgraded?

Last night I took the plunge and upgraded to WordPress 2.5, and so far, everything has been working as expected.

The install took about 5 minutes (not accounting for the back-up time) and went without a hitch. All of my plug-ins seem to be chugging along fine, and I haven’t noticed any drastic changes to the front of the scenes look of the site.

Behind the scenes is where most of WP 2.5’s changes occurred though, so I guess that’s to be expected. The whole interface was revamped, and changes include:

  • Multi-file uploading
  • One-click plugin upgrades
  • Built-in galleries
  • Customizable dashboard
  • Salted passwords and cookie encryption
  • Media library
  • A WYSIWYG that doesn’t mess with your code
  • Concurrent post editing protection
  • Full-screen writing
  • Search that covers posts and pages

Let me know if you see anything go wonky in the next few days, but if you’re looking to make the switch/upgrade to WordPress 2.5, I give it two thumbs up.

…BRABUS makes a nice pair?

Ever wish you had a car for the track and a car for the city?

Well then, BRABUS has got you covered with a matching McLaren SLR and ULTIMATE 112.

The Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR Roadster gets a full body and trim kit, as well as a custom BRABUS interior and engine upgrades to bring the power level to a respectable 650 HP. (0-62 in 3.6 seconds; Top speed of 211 mph.)

The ULTIMATE 112 (aka the “tender”), which starts out life as a Smart Fortwo, gets matching paint and interior, as well as a boost to 112 HP.

Now if they just made something to tow these with…
