…Mustangs need more Vanquish V12?

Sure, you could coat your Mustang in the body of an Aston Martin V12 Vanquish, but it’s still going to be American muscle on the inside, right?

Apparently not, as one crafty ‘stang owner has managed to find room for the Vanquish’s V12 motor between the wheel wells of an already tastily modified pony.

Check out the video for more info, including the exhaust sound that was never supposed to come out of a car costing less than $100,000:

…It’s Tuner Tuesday: Audi R8 V12 TDI LeMans?

Audi R8 V12 TDI LeMans

Though the US is still having trouble wrapping its head around the power and potential of diesel, Audi seems well aware of what it can do, and has developed the R8 V12 TDI LeMans concept car to help them strut their stuff.

Featuring “the first 12-cylinder diesel engine in a high-performance roadgoing sports car”, it generates 500 hp and 737 lb-ft of torque, propelling the car from zero to 62 mph in just 4.2 seconds, with a top speed of well over 186 mph.

Peak torque?

It’s reached at just 1,750 rpm, meaning “effortless acceleration” that is without rival.

Thus, the question becomes: Would you switch gas pumps for a car like this?

My guess: Yes, yes you would.

…It’s Tuner Tuesday: Top Secret Supra?

Top Secret Supra

The Top Secret Supra is ridiculously, stupidly, blazingly fast. With an estimated 1,000 horsepower coming from the twin turbo V12, “Smoky” (the owner) hopes to top it out at 248 mph later this year. (Apparently 200 mph flew by without any problems, so another 48 doesn’t seem that far off, does it?)

Power was sourced from a V12 that was pulled out of a Toyota Centry, which, at 276 horsepower, isn’t exactly a powerhouse out of the box, so they’ll be plenty of custom work to get things running right. A six-speed shifts gears, an LSD puts the power to the road, and a custom body kit keeps everything down at speed.

Oh, and the price?

A mere $500,000.

No wonder it’s painted gold!

…It’s Tuner Tuesday: Exclusive Motor Cars?

Exclusive Motor Cars

Despite what it looks like, this is not an Aston Martin V12 Vanquish.

Instead, it’s a Ford Mustang with one of the best body replica kits I’ve ever seen.

Made by Exclusive Motor Cars, the replication process includes stretching the wheelbase, widening the track, lowering the ride height, adding 34 extra body panels to the outside, custom upholstering the inside, and then adding the small details like the lights, emblems and grills to get things just right.

What you’re left with after all of that is over is a car that is almost indistinguishable from the real thing. (Except for the price.) They even include a Spy Package that adds on grille-mounted rocket launchers and hood-mounted machine guns for extra fun. (Apparently, “Even the original James Bond car from Die Another Day was equipted with Mustang running gear.”)

…It’s Tuner Tuesday: Nissan/Ferrari 250 GTOZ?

Ferrari 250 GTO

This fake might not fool a Ferrari fan, but it sure does look pretty good to me.

Starting out life as a 1977 Nissan 280Z, this “street rod” version of a 250 GTO has had every body panel changed and modified, a BMW V12 engine and Getrag 6 speed transmission installed, and right hand drive put in just “to make it different”.

The end result is a beautiful (and very accurate) creation that looks good and drives even better.

BMW V12 in a Ferrari bodied Nissan Z car? Perfection.
