Proving once again that with enough determination, you can build just about anything is this twin-VR6 powered, pseudo-W12’ed, AWD VW Lupo. (It’s basically the poor man’s version of This VW Show Car, and after the LS7 Powered Matiz, I’m staring to wonder if this insane engine in a tiny car thing is going to be a trend!)
The body itself is surprisingly stock, providing few clues to what lurks within, though the GIANT brakes give you a hint, and the fact that there’s no interior and the whole thing is made up of a jungle gym of safety cage should be enough to tell you that this isn’t your everyday econo-box.
Unfortunately, it looks like this creation hails form Croatia, so there aren’t many pictures to check out, though the video alone should be enough to tell you that this thing is one bad beast:
It may look like the combination of a VW GTI grill, Maserati Corse hood, Lamborghini Murcielago side scoops, Lexus IS-F gill slits, Ferrari F599 quarter windows and F430 side mirrors, Nissan 370Z roof and GT-R taillights, but when you’ve got 1,104 horses of turbocharged AND supercharged power under the hood, no one’s really going to see anything but a blurry view of the rear bumper.
Called The Zenvo ST1, this Danish supercar has been in the works since 2004, but is just now going through its final stages of testing and is expected to see the light of day (all 15 of them) some time in early 2009.
Specs include the twin-charged 7.0-liter V8, six-speed manual gearbox, rear-wheel-drive, and plenty of carbon fiber to keep the weight down, and stats come in at 3.2 to 62 mph, 120 mph in under nine seconds, and a top speed of 233 mph.
No pricing information is currently available, but if you have to ask…
Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top fame loves cars. His newest acquisition, the Bus Ball, is an artsy interpretation of a VW Microbus, a vehicle with no shortage of unique styling straight from the factory, though this time it’s dropped usability in favor of eye appealability. Though I would have loved to see this thing with some kind of motion involved, I guess it’s just going to have to stick with looking good standing still.
This commercial for the new Volkswagen Golf GT with TSI is an example of VW’s willingness to create unique advertising campaigns that definitely attract attention.
