…The Internet Schemers are coming?

One Red Paperclip

After Kyle MacDonald successfully traded his way from one red paperclip to one real house, the era of the Internet Schemer was born.

Requiring little more than an internet connection, a dream, and the willingness to do what it takes to make that dream a reality, the internet schemer definitely has his work cut out for him, but as The Bachelor Guy’s list of 8 Crazy Internet Schemers Chasing Fame and Fortune shows, anything’s possible.

From one second films to one week jobs, Wii weight loss to 50 state hitchhiking, it’s a wild world out there; but for some, the 15 seconds is more than worth it.

What would you do for a little bit of fame?

…Nerds like chocolate?

Mii Chocolates

Be nice to your nerd with a set of Chocolate Miis.

Available in either white or dark chocolate, the Paul Pape Designs Mii Chocolates are available as either boy/girl, boy/boy, or girl/girl, and come packaged in a Wii box that says “Wii belong together you and Mii” on the front.

Does a gamer’s Valentine’s Day get any better than that?

…Johnny Lee loves his Wii?

Johnny Lee is a Wiimote Magician.

By using the Wiimote/Sensor Bar combination (only reversed) with a specially designed program that he created, Johnny has turned the Wii a low cost Virtual Reality display that even looks believable on YouTube.

Could this be the future of gaming? (I hope so.)

…Ducks hunt sweaters?

Duck Hunt Sweater

Though I’m not a knitter, I would almost take up the hobby if it meant that I could make myself a Duck Hunt sweater. Featuring the falling ducks, the Zapper, and the laughing dog, it would make the perfect warmer for those cold nights spent Wiiing.

…Nintendo loves color?

Nintendo

As Nintendo evolved, so did its color palette. When the original NES launched in 1985, it drew from a palette of just 53 colors. Now, with the release of the Wii, games can choose between 16.7 million colors, and are capable of mimicking the colors found in the real world. COLOURlovers’ article is an interesting examination of Nintendo through the ages (and colors), and is a great read for game heads and history buffs alike.
